Web Stats

Why are the stats different between Webalizer and AwStats? Looking at January for example, Webalizer shows 4114109 hits, but AwStats shows 3726402. Webalizer shows 10868271 KBytes (over 10GB), and AwStats shows 8.45 GB.

A very good question, that I don't have a very good answer for. Most likely because they run at different times, tally differently and obviously one of them is missing some data (most likely awstats, as it's not like webalizer can 'fake' hits). Logfiles rotate nightly, perhaps awstats has missed a few logs before rotation or something along those lines.

OK, sounds like some lost data due to timing of log rotation. Here's a link that describes how to avoid this:
