Yesterday I could not access any of my sites or the Priority site. I heard on the news that the heat in the Toronto area caused record power consumption and there were several brown outs. Was that the cause of the sites being down?

You might want to check routing on your end if that ever happens again.
As you'll note by both the server uptimes (eg. just go to the server hostname, eg. http://www#.pcdc.net), and our aggregate MRTG graph:
We weren't down . While power usage in the GTA is reaching record levels, AFAIK there haven't actually been any brown-outs, though that wouldn't have too much impact on our network had there been. Our power is conditioned by 2 x 675KVA MGE ups units, with a 1.5megawatt diesel generator backup, and tens of thousands of litres of diesel fuel in the 151 Front fuel storage farm(s).
If you see stuff like that again, fire an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with a traceroute to your site, etc. as it sounds like a routing issue with your ISP if everythins is green on our side, and you cant see a thing.
Notably, you may notice some changes in *our* site shortly, as we're just completing our own internal migration (new design, new server, etc.) but this has no impact on customer services (as our main site has its own server for obvious reasons).
