Spam reduction since www2 upgrade

I am seeing a drastic reduction in spam on the www2 server since the upgrade last Friday (as in 1 message in 2 days to an account that would get 25-50 in a day). SpamAssassin isn't enabled nor is any filtering in general. What might be accounting for this? Does the latest CPanel now have something like Spamhaus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spamhaus_Project) enabled? It's definitely not a complaint; I just want to ensure that there is a reason for the reduction.

It's likely several factors converging.

The additional space/memory/speed, and newer software has allowed the www2 server some additional flexibility. It is indeed filtering based off the Spamcop blacklist, and the SORBS blacklist, and SPF records now post-upgrade. We also have the available CPU power to crunch more numbers, and thus some more CPU intensive features relating to spam filtering have been enabled (toys for all is what it boils down to).

Previously www2 did filter off the same SBL's, though they were factored in a different manner (SpamAssassin used them in its considerations, instead of using them to perform outright blocking).

This is just one of many beautiful benefits of brand new gear (and ridiculously overkill gear in the case of our resellers). Load averages for all of the new servers, have dropped drastically (which can be expected, when a server is upgraded from 5.6ghz of processing power, to 20.0ghz granted). This can be seen on the server status page:

Ditto Here! I am seeing about a 40% decrease in spam.

Thanks,
