Perldesk Upgrade

Hi guys,

Well, I figure it was beyond time. We've been riding off Perldesk 1.5.5 for probably longer then we should have, so after seeing the demo recently of the new version 2.0, and all of the new features included, we opted to upgrade.

We're currently upgrading to their latest release which is v2.0.3, and it features many fixes and new features. Customers will now be able to input additional data (eg. customer, resource, and provision numbers) one time into a general profile instead of once per ticket.

Hopefully this will make the helpdesk just that much smoother :). Enjoy!

It would appear that the new Perldesk database structure is indeed not the same as the original perldesk database structure.

As a result, we will be starting "clean" or "fresh". Old tickets will not be viewable in the new helpdesk, and the old logins will no longer work. Users must create new logins, and as such, we are now collecting new data for the helpdesk to reduce the amount of effort customers require to place tickets.

We will now be tracking customer number, primary resource, and primary provision numbers in the user profiles for the helpdesk. Should you have more then one resource from us (eg. multiple colocated servers), please input *one* of them into the primary resource/provision section, preferably the one you require the most help with (if any). There is also another field to specify the resource number per ticket, thus we are able to use the information stored under your customer profile to quickly recall accounts from our database, yet accurately scan through the resource in question.

If anyone should find any bugs with the new version (a few located thus far), going as far as typo's, grammar errors in the desk itself, broken images, or URL's that do not function, we would appreciate it if you could file a ticket, or email us immediatly so we can get it tidied up quickly :).
