Hi Guys,

As some of you may be aware: beginning July 1st, 2010, the Government / Ministry of Revenue will be changing the manner in which it collects sales taxes. GST (5%) and PST (8%) are slated to be discontinued, in favor of a new Harmonized Sales Tax (HST, 13%).

As a result of this, customers who are currently assessed GST and/or PST on their accounts (all Canadian based accounts, and all colocation accounts) will now instead be assessed Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) beginning July 1st, 2010. Non-colocation accounts, where the customers reside within Canada, but provinces other then Ontario will be assessed their provinces relative HST rates as applicable.

Customers should be aware that as with the existing GST tax, HST charged on business inputs (aka services Priority Colo provides to other businesses) will be refundable by the government, resulting in a net 0% tax, and thus no net change to the current tax considerations.
