Tor1 UPS Maintenance - 07-Nov-2025 - 9:15am - 4:00pm Eastern Time -- Rescheduled - See note.

Post by porcupine »

Hi Folks,

Please be advised of the following maintenance window:

Maintenance Window: Friday November 7th, 2025, 9:15am - 4:00pm Eastern Time
Affected Device: UPS-A.tor1, UPS-B.tor1
Affected Customers: Web Hosting/Reseller Hosting Customers, Dedicated Server Customers [in Tor1], Colocation Customers [in Tor1]
Service Impacting: No - Precautionary Notice Only

Details: Eaton Powerware will be performing standard preventative maintenance on both UPS units in preparation for the buildings planned "Diesel Day" maintenance, which will be announced shortly. While we do not expect this to be a service impacting maintenance, the UPS unit(s) will be operating on bypass mode, and should utility power fail at that time, there will be an interruption in services as the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) switches power from utility to generator. As such, this should be considered a precautionary maintenance window.

We expect each UPS unit to be on bypass for less than 45 minutes during this maintenance window, allowing technicians sufficient time to perform any/all invasive tests & maintenance items that need to be performed. The bypass will be staggered, to ensure both units are not on bypass at the same time.

Hi Folks,

We've received a request from the vendor (Eaton) to reschedule this maintenance operation to Monday November 10th, 2025 - 9:15am - 4:00pm Eastern time.

The technician has informed us that Eaton has scheduled staff safety training at a conflicting time on Friday, which would interfere with the availability of an apprentice, potentially impacting the safety and efficiency of the maintenance operation in question.

We are re-scheduling this maintenance to Monday morning as a result. The maintenance will no longer go forward on Friday, but instead be moved to Monday at the indicated time.

Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
