Affected Customers: Customers with direct wave services between the Tor1/Tor2 facilities.
Service Impacting: Wave services - Yes / everything else - no (precautionary notice only)
Expected Impact: Wave Services - service interruption, up to 6 hours.
Details: We have received a maintenance notification from the [east path] fiber provider, indicating:
"Reason for Maintenance/Raison d'entretien: Service Provider is performing Fiber Migration to prevent future service interruptions. *Please note* This work will be done in 3 phases, you will be receiving multiple email notifications.
Expected Impact/Impact prévu: Service Affecting Activity: Any Maintenance Activity directly impacting the service(s) of customers. Service(s) are expected to go down as a result of these activities."
After following up with the provider, their maintenance staff have indicated that numerous services are being migrated to new cables, without changes in path/topology, in relation to street level changes along the Eglington LRT path.
We expect to see additional subsequent maintenance activities on this fiber path (based on the language of the original notice), and will schedule additional windows as necessary.
