Unexpected Power Blip - 06/27/03 - 8:30am

Post by porcupine »

To anyone who was affected, we must extend our appologies.

While RACO technicians (the people we rent space from) were working on another customers equipment in another area of the suite (to my understanding, outside our cage, possibly in the power room for the suite), they managed to trip one of our circuits over. As a result a few people on APC4 may have had their servers shut down expectedly for about 0.5 seconds and reboot.

My appologies for this, I've asked that he be beaten with a wooden ruler, and kept away from our circuits in the future :).

Let me know if anyone ran into any problems resulting from this, i'm not sure if every server flicked off, or only some (as i only saw reports from a few, it might have been hardware dependant as the actual power loss was < 1 second).

Regards,
