Hi guys,

Looks like the maintenance period was sucessfull. I appologise for the lack of advance warning. Recently our Core1 router has been experiencing problems with one of its VIP cards (Versitile Interface Processor).

After having the error logs examined, it was noted that the error being produced was referenced back as a software issue. Since this was becoming service affecting issue by crashing the VIP intermittently at random(and thus causing the route switch processor to reload, causing several minutes of latency every time this occurred), we decided the best thing to do was to upgrade the software present on the core1 router as soon as possible.

I believe this should solve the issue. Should there be any more incidents with this VIP card, it will be removed from the router, and the connections currently being utilized on this processor will simply be relocated to other ports on the router; At which point we will replace the memory in the VIP (which is the most likely culprit in these scenario's), should it happen again after that, we will simply replace the entire unit.

Hopefully though the error logs are correct, and this is a software bug (which should not be resolved).

Thanks for your patience.

Regards,
