14-Oct-2004 - Billing Changes (Credit Card only)

Post by porcupine »

Hey guys,

Well as many of you may have noticed, in the past few months, credit card billings have fluctuated by a reasonable amount (~1 week for some), where billings would fluctuate from the original renewal date, and process later. This is completely normal under even ideal circumstances, to a lesser extent, as your credit card will take a few days to post transactions to you (thus normal bills will appear a few days later then they're actually charged).

Recently, we've been swamped by the lack of a proper recurring system for credit cards. This would mean that since we do not force accounts to be pro-rated to a certain time of month, daily it was required to process payments to keep everything rolling on time. Recently that has simply not been possible due to a variety of factors (thus some transactions would get billed days later). For the most part, this has not been a big deal, simply an annoyance to some.

As such, Moneris has integrated many new functions into their systems, one of which being proper recurring billing. We have modified our database to be compatable with the new format they're utilizing, and as such, will begin using the Moneris recurring billing system. I do not expect there will be any glitches as a result of this, simply on time billing, every time, beginning next month, as well as drastically reducing our administrative workload.

Let me know if anyone has questions :).
