Is there software that can email form fields?

Post by Rayg »

Hi,

I looked at the scripts for forms in the documentation, but did not spot one that can email its fields, like formmail in the past. Is there such a thing available?

Could you provide more detail / be more specific?

There are multiple ways to email form data from a website.

Hi,

Thanks. All I want are fields in which text can be written, and a button that will send them to a certain email. I believe that when you had Formmail many years ago, one mode was basically that simple. I know that some such scripts had security issues, so I hope something is available.

What about security now, are there still problems or have they worked on it?

CPanel pulled the original formmail as most stuff moved to PHP, and due to security concerns.

I'm not sure why they didn't replace it (at the time), I suppose there was likely a competing product, perhaps as little as the simple php "mail()" command, IE: https://www.w3schools.com/php/func_mail_mail.asp

That said, a company called Tectite did make a PHP based formmail replacement, which appears to be kept up to date, and one could use: https://www.tectite.com/formmailpage.php
