Tor2 UPS Maintenance - 16-Jul-2024 - 8:50am -1:00pm

Post by porcupine »

Hi Folks,

Please be advised of the following maintenance window:

Maintenance Window: Tuesday July 16th, 2024 - 8:50am - 1:00pm Eastern Time
Affected Device: UPS-A.tor2, UPS-B.tor2
Affected Customers: Colocation & Dedicated Server Customers [in Tor2 facility]
Service Impacting: No - Precautionary Notice Only

Details: Powerware will be performing standard preventative maintenance on both UPS units. While we do not expect this to be a service impacting maintenance, the UPS unit(s) will be operating on bypass for a portion of the maintenance window, and should utility power fail at this time, there will be an interruption in services as the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) switches power from utility to generator.

As such, this should be considered a precautionary maintenance window. We expect each UPS unit to be on bypass for less than 30 minutes during this maintenance window, allowing technicians sufficient time to perform any/all invasive tests & maintenance items that need to be performed. The bypass will be staggered, to ensure both units are not on bypass at the same time.

Note: This maintenance window is a rescheduling of the previous 03-Jul-2024 maintenance window, which was aborted due to vendor error (the manufacturer staff failed to arrive during the previous window due to error made by their dispatch operator).

I would also like to remind customers that we also provide [real time] updates during maintenance and related activities to our maintenance twitter feed @ https://x.com/PColoMaint
