01-04-2002 www5 Schedueled maintenance

Ok guys,

Well as anyone on www5 knows, due to 2 popular (very popular) sites, the stability has been getting worse instead of better, and it happens that we now have more dimms of RAM that we're going to try in the www5 server, so between the hours of 3:00 and 6:00 tonight we're going to take a stab with this new RAM, and hope for better results then last time.

This should help minimize downtime for this server due to scripts/mysql usage going through the roof.

Ok well the maintenance went smoothly this time (thank God), RAM worked on the first seating, and everything looks good there.

Overall, not even 5 minutes of downtime, a new record by far (when considered that this is being done single handedly)

, everything should be operating a LOT more smoothly on www5 for the longrun now.
