HelpDesk Config

Post by MITeacher »

Hey,

It would be nice if you were able to:
1. Change the phpbb logo with your own in the forums, or replace it with a white gif.
2. Change the HelpDesk PerlDesk logo to one of your own
3. Probably most important, edit the mail config file in PerlDesk so replies from the helpdesk actually come from whatever@PriorityColo.com intead of "your@domain.com"

Just a few suggestions :) Keep up the good work!

#1. Naw, we still dont have a logo that i actually like, i want it redesigned a lot before i go doing that.
#2. I believe thats against the perldesk requirements (we didn't pay for the copy, we got it before perldesk had a mandatory fee, hence i dont think we're allowed to modify it, why pay if its free? :))
#3. Definatly have to look into that :).

Hi Myles - on #2, you are allowed to modify the 1.5.5 free version to reflect your own logo. You're allowed to modify in some pretty extreme ways based on what I've seen on the pdesk forums.

What you can't do is remove the link back to perldesk.com in the footer, or modify the perl scripts to remove their copyright/ownership notes.

I actually put in my own headers too (just finishing up - the tags are broken) as I like people to maintain a link back to the main site elements:

Ahh ok, wasn't sure :)

Either way, im not satisfied with our little logo, so until i get someone who can do a decent job redesigning that, i'm not putting it into anything like that :)
