Schedueled Downtime

Post by porcupine »

This is just a notification that this Sunday Mornning, around 1:00 AM there will be a planned outage which may last several hours. This will be due to our partnered connectivity moving some of their Cisco Equipment to their new suite as they have expanded and were forced to move to a new floor of the facility.

If you've got any questions, just let me know, i will append more data to this thread when i receive the estimated time that they will require to complete this equipment move.

Ok,

I've been told it may take as long as 6 hours to move the dual cisco 7500 series routers to their new home and get them all plugged back in and hooked up, but we're all hopefull it will take less then 2.

Lets hope all goes smoothly :).

Network Maintenance is now complete, and on scheduele. Unfortunatly i think we were all hoping it would be a lot faster (i know i was hoping for 10 minutes of downtime), but it was completed within the set timeframe, and thats all we can ever guarantee i suppose :D.

If anyone had NOT received notification of this downtime (i sent out email to all current clients), then please notify me, you likely signed up to our services with an email address which you are not actively checking, and we can add your new/other addresses into our database for future notifications.

Also, on a tangent, I'm sure people have noticed the recent lack of stability with the www2 server as CPanel bugs (in the usermod and userdel) routines crashed it several times in the past week. We have devised a method to prevent this from happening as the CPanel team has insisted that what we are experiencing is an isolated incident and not under their direct control. We shall find out if this works within a matter of days.
