Redirecting in Cpanel (how?)

Post by Alexander »

Hi all,

One of my clients will have different languages on her website in the future. The idea is to locate the different files in different folders, eg:
domain.com/en/
domain.com/fr/
domain.com/de/
etc...

Since the first language that'll be online will be English only, I thought it'd be best to redirect all traffic from www.domain.com to www.domain.com/en/ using the redirect function in CPanel. Unfortunatly I can't get it to work. When I set it like...
From http://domain.com >>> http://domain.com/en/
.. the domain won't shop up at all and Mozilla gives me a redirect error; it seems to loop. Is there another way (except HTTP refresh headers in the index.html on the root of the domain)? I thought it'd be most fancy if the server redirected it (als search-engine-wise smarter thing to do) ...

Let me know!

You could always suspend a site and look at the redirect syntax in there (or ask us to VIA helpdesk/email), even if you created a new site to do so. That redirect *always* seems to work, thus it should give you a decent idea.
