Hi guys,

www5 has recently been running into memory problems, generally due to run-away httpd processes, and run away php scripts, chewing up far more memory then they should be, and slowing down the server until caught.

As such, we'll be upgrading the www5 server from 1GB of RAM to 2GB of RAM on 09-Jun-2005 (Thursday), between 10:00pm and 4:00am EST.

This is a very basic hardware operation, and will have minimal impact; we expect to see one outage between 3 and 10 minutes in length as a result of this upgrade.

Regards,

www5's maintenance is now complete, and it's running along with 2GB of DDR ECC Registered memory; all in record time (less then 4 minutes for the shutdown, un-racking, addition of ram, and [re]boot).
