Scheduled network maintenance - 13-Dec-09 - 11:00pm - 3:00am

Post by porcupine »

Hi Guys,

Please be advised of the following maintenance window:

Maintenance Window: Sunday December 13th 2009, 11:00pm - 3:00am EST

Affected Device: core01.tor1
Affected Customers: physically/directly connected BGP Customers
Service Impacting: Yes - BGP Customer sessions will be gracefully turned down for the duration of this maintenance. All other BGP network traffic will be re-routed around device until the maintenance has completed.
Details: We will be performing preventative maintenance to address a progressive recurring memory leak which has been detected on the supervisor card, we will be upgrading core01.tor1 from IOS SXI1 to IOS SXI3, which we believe will permanently address this issue.

Affected Device: dist01.tor1 & dist02.tor1
Affected Customers: physically/directly connected Customers
Service Impacting: No - We do not expect to see any impact to customer traffic whatsoever from this maintenance. This is a precautionary maintenance window for the customers on the dist01.tor1 and dist02.tor1 distribution switches.
Details: We will be preparing the dist01.tor1, and dist02.tor1 distribution switches for IPv6 compatibility/deployments. Additionally, we will be putting some MLS limiters into place, to help protect our distribution layer from flooding/attacks.

Hello Everyone,

Just to confirm, the maintenance in question has been closed, without any serious incident. Core01.tor1's IOS is upgraded, now we are now able to deploy IPv6 allocations, network-wide.
